Clinical

The Gifford School's clinical team provides an umbrella of clinical programming that helps students make psychological and social progress while engaging in educational opportunities. Our clinical services include:

  • Counseling to support school-related issues including coping and building positive peer relations

  • Collaboration with students’ outpatient therapists to ensure coordination of services across all settings

  • A supportive milieu to respond in the moment to situations as they arise

  •  Social pragmatics programming based on Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking model embedded into our milieu

Gifford’s Clinical Director oversees a team of clinicians, consultants and clinical interns who work with students during the day to help them identify and facilitate appropriate ways of obtaining support. The clinicians maintain relationships with students’, families and outpatient clinical teams to coordinate the work done at Gifford with what is being done at home and in the community.
