Coping & Regulation Strategies

Most Gifford students need help managing their emotions during the school day.  They may be easily triggered by the stress of school, and have strong feelings which they are learning to control.  Gifford’s clinical team works to develop and implement an individualized coping plan for each student.  Managing the academic, social, and physiological factors which contribute to mood changes requires an in depth understanding of each student’s needs.  Close collaboration with families and outside treatment professionals ensures a consistent approach which will be most helpful.
