Math Teachers 

We currently have openings for licensed Math teachers (Grades 8-12). These are ten month/full time positions (40 hours) in a special education setting. The hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday; 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Friday; August 24th 2017 through June 20th 2018.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of subject area, content, and teaching methodology
  • Massachusetts license in:
    • Subject area; OR
    • Moderate Disabilities
  • Experience teaching in a special education setting
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Understanding of therapeutic milieu and classroom management strategies
  • Strong communication, organization, and writing skills

Assistant Teacher

We currently have an opening for an Assistant Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. This is a ten month/full time positions (40 hours) in a special education setting. The hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday; 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Friday; August 24th 2017 through June 20th2018.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
Experience with children/adolescents in a special education setting preferred
Ability to develop an understanding of special needs population and therapeutic milieu
Proven interpersonal skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Strong communication skills

Responsibilities: 

Provide in-class support to teachers and students
Assist teachers with lesson planning, grading, or prep work, as requested
With guidance from a classroom teacher and at times independently, work with students on one-to-one basis or in small groups
With the support of the classroom teacher, become familiar with students’ goals as defined in the IEP
Facilitate and lead students during transitions, lunch, electives and group activities
Provide one-on-one support to students in or outside the classroom in order to meet their needs
Assist with facilitating off campus school trips
Demonstrate respect for diversity among our staff and student body and promote an atmosphere which values this diversity
