Math Teachers 

We currently have openings for licensed Math teachers (Grades 8-12). These are ten month/full time positions (40 hours) in a special education setting. The hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday; 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Friday; August 24th 2017 through June 20th 2018.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of subject area, content, and teaching methodology

  • Massachusetts license in:

    • Subject area; OR Moderate Disabilities

  • Experience teaching in a special education setting

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

  • Understanding of therapeutic milieu and classroom management strategies

  • Strong communication, organization, and writing skills


Main Office Secretary (part-time)

The Gifford School currently has an opening for a Main Office Secretary. We are seeking a detail oriented person with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills who has a professional demeanor and is capable of working as part of a closely-knit team. Prior experience working in a school office or in an administrative support capacity is helpful; computer and database literacy is essential.

 Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and let staff members know of guests' arrival

  • Triage telephone and visitor concerns and inquiries to appropriate resolution

  • Maintain and update multiple databases

  • Order student/staff supplies and maintain inventory of all office supplies

  • Daily/monthly attendance reporting

  • Maintain office machines and coordinate service, as needed

  • Support outreach efforts with mailings and database support as requested

  • Support deadline driven projects and implement new office systems and procedures as required

  • Under the supervision of the Outreach Director provide support to other departments as needed

This is a 12-month, 24 hour/week position, Monday-Wednesday 7:30-3:30 offering a competitive salary with health care benefits and paid time off.
