The Board of Directors of the Gifford School is pleased to announce the promotion of Wilson Fredian, the School’s Principal and Assistant Director, to Executive Director effective July 1st 2017. Wil began his career at Gifford in 2001 and has served in roles of increasing responsibility since that time, including leading the Lower, Middle and High Schools. He began serving in a leadership role in 2003 and has been an invaluable member of the school’s senior leadership team ever since. Wil brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and hands-on experience to his new role, which the Board of Directors believes will be of great benefit to Gifford students and families as well as our public-school partners.
Gifford prides itself on having an outstanding, dedicated, and highly trained staff, and Wil is a prime example of that. “For fifteen years, he has been an essential ingredient in the success of our students,” said Ken Coleman President of the Board of Directors.
Wil will be taking over the responsibilities of Executive Director from Robert McArdle, who has been the school’s Executive Director since the retirement of Mike Bassichis in 2015. “Bob has done an outstanding job during this transition period, particularly in mentoring Wil who is now ready to lead the school,” added Coleman.
“Words can’t express my gratitude to the Board of Directors and my excitement both personally and professionally about the opportunity to lead the Gifford School well into the future. My sincere thanks go out Gifford’s amazing students, who over the years have modeled for me what perseverance and commitment to improvement truly mean. Thanks also go to Gifford’s exceptional staff, both past and present, who have exemplified dedication and professionalism in roles where the challenges are exceeded only by the rewards.”
Please join the Gifford Board of Directors in congratulating Wil and wishing him the best of luck in his new position.
