Technology Integration Specialist

We currently have an opening for the 2020-2021 school year for a Technology Integration Specialist. This is a full time, 12-month position reporting to the IT Director. Hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30-3:30, Friday 7:30-3:00.

Qualifications:

      Assists teachers and students in making proper use of media/computer equipment and materials

      Assists with keeping materials and equipment in working order; requests and records service calls

      Operates technical equipment and apparatus on request.  Assists teachers and students in the use of the technology equipment

      Prepares and issues material and equipment for student use.  Assists students with set-up and use of equipment.  Maintains schedule and catalog of materials and equipment

      Assists teachers in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interest, or ability

      Assist in creating online content for teacher and student training in Web based applications

      Assist training teacher and student with utilizing online tools

      Support students, teachers with technology that enhances digital learning in classroom

      Respond to student behaviors in the classroom and throughout the milieu by utilizing Gifford behavioral systems

      Support specialized equipment used in computer labs and classrooms

      Assist programs in developing spreadsheets to manage data

      Assist with student technology training and assist students with technology needs

      Work cooperatively with Tech Department to triage and address teacher concerns related to digital learning, the learning management system, Web based applications

      Assist in the development of professional development activities for staff around Web based applications and other technology related trainings

      Assist the Information System Director providing expertise and support in the use of instructional technology resources

      Collaborate with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology

      Remain current on emerging technologies in education and evaluate potential application

      Work with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure

      Attend once-a month administrator led in-service training

      Remain up to date (daily checks) with all internal email and voicemail messages

      Participate in a few night meetings

      Help maintain a safe, positive work and learning environment for all by adhering to the principles of conduct described in Gifford’s policy manuals and by treating all Gifford community members with fairness and respect

      Demonstrate respect for diversity among our staff and student body and promote an atmosphere which values this diversity

      Understand and represent Gifford’s culture and mission to students, families and others

Physical Requirements

      Ability to participate in outdoor physical activities to include kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 25 pounds
